About Manic Miner
Manic Miner is a platform arcade game originally made for the ZX Spectrum by Matthew Smith. It was then released by Bug-Byte in 1983. It is the first game in the highly addictive Miner Willy series and is among the earliest titles in the home computer platform game genre. The game itself was inspired by the Atari 800 game Miner 2049er. Manic Miner has since been ported to numerous home computers, video game consoles and mobile phones.
How to Play
There are 20 caverns, and inside each one, are several flashing objects, which you must collect before Miner Willy's oxygen supply runs out. Once you have collected the objects in one cavern, enter the flashing portal, to take Miner Willy to the next cavern.
Avoid ALL enemies, the Poisonous Pansies, Spiders, Slime, and the nastiest of all, the Manic Mining Robots. Miner Willy can also be killed by falling too far, so remember to time jumps to avoid death.
Extra lives are given every 10,000 points, and the game ends when the player either runs out of lives, or completes all 20 caverns and escapes to the open air above. Good Luck !
